Well, we didn’t want to leave Florence, but Siena turned out to be really charming! It’s a smaller more medieval version of Florence with none of the art. As Nancy said, St. Catherine is a bigger rock star than Jesus here. So much so, they keep her sainted head and finger in the cathedral. Nice. Il Campo is a great place to sit back, drink some vino on a balcony and people watch, which of course is what we did. Il Palio (the horse race) is held here twice every summer. Oh, and they have a Duomo too. The killer thing about this one is that the mosaic marbled floors were on display. Most of the year, they’re covered.
